Say no. Disappoint people. Don’t be manipulated.

I love this. Saying no is self-care:

Saying no is as essential to my well-being as resting and taking herbal baths. Saying no means changing your relationship to guilt. You have to be OK with disappointing people and make yourself impervious to emotional manipulation.

As a people-pleaser, the prospect of disappointing people is TERRIFYING. But people-pleasing is also exhausting and a great way to resent everyone all of the time. Here’s to disappointing others and taking care of yourself!
