Dorian Electra’s first album, Flamboyant, was catchy baroque-inspired pop that played with gender roles (faves: the title track, Daddy Like, and Career Boy). Their second album, dropping today, is darker and edgier, taking on homophobia and toxic male gamers, among other things.
My fave so far is My Agenda. Who doesn’t love gay frogs, the Village People, and rainbow suspenders?!
Many of the songs are too intense for my bubblegum pop-loving soul, but I’m totally down with Dorian’s, well, agenda. I MEAN:
“[I like] when you can be mischievous, but at the end of the day your purpose is good.”
A chaotic good nonbinary icon? WE STAN.
